Notes:
One of the newest heavy cruiser in Starfleet, the Ambassador Hardin Class is designed to provide close fire support for major task groups, especially when Federation vessels are outnumbered. Armed with heavy long-range phasers and a large complement of photon torpedoes, ships of this class are formidable foes that can engage the enemy at long range. They are also able to inflict moderate damage and lend direct fire support from virtually any tactical position within a flotilla or attack group. The Ambassador Hardin Class also supports a full complement of marines trained in zero-gravity combat and boarding maneuvers, which further enhances its worth as a combat vessel. The Ambassador Hardin Class is distinctive in appearance as well. The Ambassador Hardin has PB-72 drive nacelles to port and starboard attached to the rear of the vessel. Argelius Shipyards produces three Ambassadors per year. Ships of this class are named for individuals who have made significant contributions to the Federation in recent years.

UPDATE NOTES:
This model of the Ambassador Hardin class represents a full redesign. It is not intended as a variant, but as a replacement to the original FASA Ambassador class. Replacement pages for Star Trek The Next Generation Officer's Manual 2012.

GRAPHIC NOTES: Yet again, we praise Brad's work. In my opinion, this is by far one of the best "reinterpretations" of a FASA design. Brad has managed to keep the "Federation" feel without re-using all the typical elements found in many redesigns. I chose to use this image over the original it made much more sense than the FASA original. Brad preferred to call this the “Envoy” class and adapted the FASA Ambassador to that variant. NOMENCLATURE: The Ambassador Hardin is listed in the Star Trek The Next Generation Officer's Manual as the Ambassador. Several years later, the Ambassador class Enterprise-C was seen on screen as a clearly different model/design. Since then, this class has become the Ambassador Hardin.
