Designer Notes:
By far, the Defiant is one of the HARDEST ships to design - and
designing it in the FASA universe doesn't make it any easier. The
only real hard source for data is the DS9 Tech book - a manual that
is fraut with inaccuracy, errors and even self-contradictions. I've
used several other sources to try and flesh this vessel out - but
in the end, I don't think anyone will sure exactuly what the stats
SHOULD be.
Game Mechanics
Stats: Torpedo launches can use either FWT-6 or the FP-30. The FQT-6
has a significantly limited torpedo availability. Referee's should
establish the total number of FQT-6 torpedoes usable by the Federation
player. the FP-30 should have no such restriction. For game balance,
only Quantor Torpedoes or Photon Torpedoes may be used during any
one turn. Federation players may switch between the two at the beginning
of any turn, but may not switch during that turn.
